28th September 2005 - Millstream Chinchester National Park, Western Australia

Millstream Chinchester National Park is located approximately 90k south of Roebourne – The road from Snake Creek towards Millstream is narrow and tarred for approx. 11k Python Pool is about 2k from Snake Creek along a tarred road.We camped at Snake creek for two nights and after exploring the creek, we enjoyed the sunset on the adjacent hills. There is no shade and the camping area is a bit rough. -

Python Pool is worth a stop and the short walk from the car park to the pool is rewarding. -

Deep Reach Pool Camping Ground (Miliyana Camping Ground) is a further 45k from Python Pool and is the main Millstream camping area is adjacent to the stream and is great for swimming. The pool is very deep and ladders have been placed to allow easy access. Shade trees are suitable for camping under and BBQ’s are supplied. The road between Deep Reach Pool and Pannawonica is terrible and is not recommended for Motorhomes or Caravans as it is narrow and rough in spots. Pannawonica is a mining town and has a caravan park adjacent to the oval (4 sites). If staying at this park, be wary of the automatic sprinklers that start at 2.00am and cool down your Motorhome / caravan (keep your front windows shut). We recommend this trip and we enjoyed the Homestead history.
